6 cups chicken stock or chicken broth

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 cup chopped celery

1/4 teaspoon ground coriander

1 cup chopped carrot

shredded coconut, for topping

2 garlic cloves , minced

1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans , drained and rinsed

1/2 cup chopped peeled turnip

1 granny smith apple , unpeeled and chopped

3/4 cup chopped bell pepper

2 cups cubed cooked chicken

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon curry powder

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
