1/4 cup Tuscan extra-virgin olive oil

3/4 cups chicken stock or water, or as needed

1/4 cup puréed tomato sauce

1 cup small, dry pasta (such as latini macheroncini or ditalini)

2 teaspoons salt, or to taste

15 grinds black pepper, or to taste

Additional extra-virgin olive oil for garnish
