Definitely reduce the sugar unless you're really going for a sweet dish. I used 1/4 cup of sugar, and added 3/4 cup of chopped toasted pecans with the cranberries at the end.

I made this last night for thanksgiving and they were a great hit :) I did add less sugar and decided to add pecans instead of cranberries. Super yummy!!

I would add some chopped walnuts at the end for some crunch and as a foil to the sweet cranberries. And yeah, reducing the sugar is a good idea. Most dried cranberries already have sugar on them!

I agree the amount of sugar could be reduced a bit. Also the amount of dried cranberries. They should be more of a garnish, and next time I make this, I will try chopping them up a bit as well.

The sugar combined with the balsamic makes a syrup. It's something you could leave out and just reduce the balsamic itself.

I love roasted brussels sprouts! I usually put the balsamic on before I roast them though. Might have to try it this way.

Now why the hell didn't I search this BEFORE I roasted my brussel sprouts yesterday. Grrr. I bet the combo of the sweet and tart is spectacular. And super pretty. Love me some brussel sprouts. Brussels is in Belgium, and Belgium makes good chocolate. So really, by eating the sprouts your just one degree away from chocolate. Works for me.
