I tried making these- they looked great! However they never got baked enough in the center- I baked them longer than stated for the first bake- but they stayed raw. They never cooked all the way through when sliced- any suggestions?

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

1/2 cup pumpkin puree

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

1 Tbsp vanilla paste (1 TBS vanilla extract will work fine)

2 Tbsp butter or margarine

1 1/4 cup nuts, coarsely chopped (I used pecans)
