  • 85.0g light muscovado sugar
  • 1.0 tsp baking powder
  • 150.0ml double cream
  • 200.0g light muscovado sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs , beaten
  • 160.0g self-raising flour
  • FOR THE BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE
  • 200.0g butter at room temperature, plus extra for greasing
  • a little milk , if necessary
  • 50.0g ground almonds
  • 25.0g demerara sugar
