I have been making raita for years, not by this recipe; but when I do make it is as a cooling food - so I omit the heat/pepper(s).

2 cups Plain yogurt

2 x Persian cucumbers

1 tsp fresh mint leaves finely chopped

3/4 tsp ground cumin

1/4 tsp Red chili powder

1 tbsp cilantro, (stems included) finely chopped

1 tsp lemon juice

2 tsp salt
