1 teaspoon fennel seeds

1 pound ground turkey (preferably dark meat)

½ cup panko bread crumbs (these are Japanese-style; they’re coarser and crispier than regular bread crumbs)

1 large egg

kosher salt and black pepper

a few store-bought turkey meatballs (decoys!)

12 ounces spaghetti (¾ box)

1 16-ounce jar marinara sauce (2 cups)

grated Parmesan, for serving
