2 green onions, coarsely cut up

2 Tablespoons chopped fresh dill (or substitute flat leaf parsley if you don't like dill)

2 Tablespoons lemon juice

1 Tablespoon capers

1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

8 ounces thinly sliced smoked salmon

Crudites and/or toasted baguette slices

Garnish: chopped fresh chives, lemon slices (optional)
