20 already-cooked meatballs, fresh or frozen

1 large onions, about 1 1/2 cups chopped

3 – 14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes (I used 1 regular and 2 fire roasted)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 1/2 tsp sugar

1 large fresh jalapeno pepper, seeds removed and minced

3 Tbs chopped fresh cilantro, optional

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp dried ground ginger

1/4 tsp black pepper

2 pkgs Near East Roasted Garlic and Olive Oil Couscous
