  • 500 gm chana dal
  • 2 x red chillis, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp coriander seed
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 2 big tomatoes, peeled, deseeded and chopped or a handful of small ones, diced
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 handful coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 x fresh lemon
  • 1 per person egg
  • 1 x sea salt
