Subbed fresh green chili peppers (2) and regular diced tomatoes, followed first steps then put in slow cooker for seven hours, added garbanzo beans and corn. Good for those who like just a little bit of heat, otherwise add more peppers.

2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers

1 1/2 cups beef broth

1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers

1 onion, chopped

2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
