3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 tablespoon solid vegetable shortening

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup water

4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, cut into 1/2-inch pieces

1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
