Yes, I know I just posted a holiday drink, but I feel Thanksgiving always calls for as much fortification as humanly possible. This is a Nigella Lawson recipe, and although England is a non-Thanksgiving country, the Brits do know from hard cider. Plus it's definitely healthier than my original "standing on Central Park West freezing, watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade" mixture of Jack and Coffee. Although it is easy.

Ingredients for 6 servings

9 fluid ounces apple and ginger tea, from herbal teabag

2 fluid ounces dark rum

4 cloves

2 sticks cinnamon

2 fresh bay leaves

1 1/2 ounces soft dark brown sugar

2 cardamom pods

1 pint (16 fluid ounces) cider

2 clementines
