1 quart store-bought tomato soup, preferably organic, such as Pacific brand Creamy Tomato

5.2 ounces (1 package) soft herbed cheese, such as Boursin

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 teaspoon ground pink peppercorns, or to taste (may substitute ground white or black peppercorns)

2 tablespoons cheddar cheese powder, or to taste (see headnote)
