I would add some Au jus paste too. It would bump up the beef flavor.

Added chili powder and extra can of diced tomatoes. Think if you reserve the tomato juice and add a beer instead it would be perfect.

Ingredients for 6 servings

2 pounds ground beef

1 large yellow onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper, seeded and finely chopped

1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped

1 teaspoon ground cumin

2 14-ounce cans diced tomatoes, juice reserved

2 14-ounce cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
