Variation: Brown and thoroughly cool 2-, up to 4-ounces salted butter, and add to mix. Garnish ice cream with roasted macadamia nuts or hazelnuts.

Ingredients for 8 servings

1 pint heavy cream

2 x 14-oz cans dulce de leche

1/2 c. half-and-half cream

1 Tbsp vanilla extract

Preparation

1.

Blend cream into the dulce de leche, little by little with a whisk, and once it's loosened, add vanilla and half-and-half. Freeze as usual.
