2 teaspoons light corn syrup

1/2 cup fresh lime juice

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

3 large eggs

3 cups sugar

1 tablespoon grated peeled fresh ginger

1/2 cup sugar

3 large egg yolks

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large egg whites

For Cake

6 tablespoons unsalted butter , cut into pieces,room temperature

1 teaspoon baking soda
