1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon Chinese five- spice powder

1 teaspoon Asian sesame oil

1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

1/2 teaspoon chile paste

1 pound flank steak

4 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 pound bok choy, trimmed, cut crosswise into 1-inch pieces

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Steamed white rice or cooked Asian noodles

Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Chopped green onion tops for garnish
