6 to 8 tablespoons Sucanat, to taste**

2 tablespoons agave nectar

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup melted coconut oil

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Scant 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt

1/2 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 cup pecan halves, coarsely chopped, or chopped dates

1 1/2 cups rolled rye flakes

3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons whole wheat pastry flour (scoop & scrape! don’t spoon & scrape, or your cookies will spread.)

1/2 teaspoon baking powder
