These are sooo good and really easy. We had a lot of fun making them. I froze some for later. When I wanted one, I would thaw it on the counter for ten minutes and then pop it in the toaster oven for 3 or 4. They reheated great!

Ingredients for 12 servings

1/2 cup white sugar

4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1 teaspoon white sugar

1/2 cup baking soda

5 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/4 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/4 cup kosher salt, for topping

4 cups hot water

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
