6 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped

1 2" piece fresh ginger, peeled, coarsely chopped

1 cup plus 1½ Tbsp. reduced-sodium soy sauce

1/4 cup gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)

1/4 cup (packed) light brown sugar

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

2 teaspoons honey

2 tablespoons rice wine

2 tablespoons unseasoned rice vinegar

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 cup potato starch

Peanut or vegetable oil (for frying)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds
