Ingredients

1/2 cup quick-cooking fine- or medium-grain bulgur wheat

1/2 cup uncooked hulled red lentils

1 1/2 cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed

Juice of 1 lemon

1 Tbs. Red Pepper Paste (see recipe)

2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

2 Tbs. butter

1 Tbs. dried mint

1 tsp. paprika or Aleppo pepper
