Ingredients for 16 servings

1 teaspoon sambal oelek (paste of fresh chili)

1/2 cup dried brown lentils

2 (19 fluid ounce) cans black beans , include liquid

1/2 cup dried red lentil

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1 cup diced celery root or 2 large ribs celery , diced

1 large onion , chopped small (about 3 cups)

40 fluid ounces vegetable broth or chicken broth

4 cups water

4 tablespoons instant mashed potatoes or potato flakes

2 teaspoons crushed dried oregano

8 cloves garlic , finely chopped

2 cups water

2 teaspoons soy sauce

3 tablespoons chicken soup base or 3 chicken bouillon cubes

2 teaspoons ground cumin

2 medium potatoes , peeled and cubed into 1/2 " cubes (about 4 cups)

1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

2 tablespoons butter

3 teaspoons chili powder
