I made this with the yellow tomatoes and I love this simple recipe, my daughter loves it also. It is a shame society claims white pasta is not good for you but everything in moderation..

This is so good . I tried to find the golden tomatoes but my supermarket was out of them so I used the cherry tomatoes and it was so, so good. I followed the recipe exactly except for the tomatoes this is my favorite so good you must make this and the red peppers flakes give it such a kick!!!!

Made a vegan version of this (only needing to skip the cheese) and it was amazing! I never could get Sun Gold tomatoes before but I found them at the Asheville tailgate market.

Ingredients for 2 servings

4 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil, divided

8 oz. Sun Gold or cherry tomatoes

2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes

Kosher salt

6 oz. capellini, spaghetti, or bucatini

3/4 cup finely grated Pecorino or Parmesan

8 medium fresh basil leaves, torn into pieces

Toasted breadcrumbs (for garnish; optional)
