2 tablespoons dark corn syrup

2 large egg yolks

4 tablespoons unsalted butter , melted

1 1/2 cups pecan halves

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

whipped cream (optional)

1 teaspoon salt

all-purpose flour , for dusting

1 teaspoon sugar
