Ingredients

1 1/3 cups granulated sugar

3 1/2 tablespoons Clabber Girl Cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 cups blackberries or red raspberries (or 1 cup of each)

1 1/4 cup coarsely chopped strawberries

1 cup blueberries

1 3/4 cups pitted and (unpeeled) chopped red or purple plums or apricots

1 cup pitted dark, sweet cherries, coarsely chopped, or ripe peaches, chopped

1 cup 1/2-inch pieces rhubarb or peeled and chopped tart apple

1/4 cup orange juice or cranberry juice cocktail

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into bits

1 to 2 tablespoon lemon juice, to taste (optional)

Dough

1 1/2 cups all-purpose white flour

1-1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar

3/4 teaspoon Clabber Girl Baking Powder

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

Generous 1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup chilled unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

2 1/2 tablespoons canola oil or corn oil

1/3 cup milk, approximately

1 tablespoon sugar for sprinkling on dough top, optional
