Unfortunately my cookies came out really flat and crispy. I used good butter and chilled the dough about an hour before baking. I'm baking in a new oven and it's possible the spread was due to user error, but I also wonder whether there is too much sugar, I should let the dough chill overnight, and/or I should bake at a higher temperature for part of the time they are in the oven to allow them to set up better.

Liza, I am so sorry you are experiencing trouble. Foodily is aware of the bug in the system and the engineers are working on it. I have been involved in many different food sites and they all experiences hiccups (or worse) every once in a blue moon. Today is Monday/August 12th and I see in previous days some other folks are having the same issue I am experiencing right now.... All I am getting is a pretty picture and I can see comments however NO recipe is available to access. Frustrated. I am "new" to this Foodily and I have to say there is enough out there that I do not think I will bother trying too many more times. Foodgawkers gives both great pictures and recipes and I discovered them by accident and have been loving the link and sharing recipes. I will give this another shot but I do not like wasting me time and will not bother to try too much more. I hope on all aspects of the spectrum they can fix this quickly because I like the words "healthy" and I like the picture. Missing the key element the recipe, I do not like :(. Thank you.

Hallo Harris! 1 stick is equivalent to 113 grams so you'll need 226 grams of butter to make the full recipe (which makes a lot of cookies.) Enjoy!

1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter or organic Earth Balance, cut into ½-inch pieces

¾ cup cane sugar

1 cup brown sugar or Muscovado sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 large eggs

1 ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 cups whole wheat pastry flour or white whole wheat flour

1 cup oat flour (you can take a cup of rolled oats and process them in the food processor to make your own oat flour)

1 teaspoon aluminum-free baking powder

1 teaspoon fine sea salt

18 ounces semi-sweet or dark chocolate bars, chopped coarsely or use chocolate chips

1 ½ cups chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

flaky sea salt (optional)
