Ingredients

2 teaspoons olive oil

2 ribs celery with leaves, chopped

2 carrots, chopped

1 onion, finely chopped

1 small clove garlic, minced

1 large potato, peeled and diced

1 green bell pepper, chopped

1 red bell pepper, chopped

3/4 cup bottled clam juice

2 cans (6 1/2 ounces each) chopped clams, drained with juice reserved

2 1/2 cups reduced-sodium stewed tomatoes

1 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

3 drops hot-pepper sauce
