8 granny smith apples
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 tbsps All Purpose flour
1/2 cup White sugar
1/2 cup Packed brown sugar
1/4 cup Water
9 in Double pie crust
Start by peeling the apples. Core them and slice them pretty thin. Set aside.
Pre-heat your oven to 425 degrees. Then, in a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour for a minuet or so.
Next, stir in the white sugar and then the brown sugar. Add the water and stir. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat. Let it simmer for five minuets before removing from the heat.
Place the pie crust in a nine inch pie pan. Then, put the apples in the pie crust.
Then, roll out the top crust so it will hang out 1/2 an inch. Cut the top crust into 1 inch strips.
Alternately, weave the pie crust strips to make a lattice top or make your own design.
Then, seal and cut off the access pie crust. Slowly pour your butter-sugar mixture on top of your pie crust.
Bake the pie for 15 minuets in the pre-heated oven. After 15 minuets, reduce the oven to 350 degrees and continue to bake it for 35 to 45 more minuets. Enjoy!
