salt and pepper

3 Tablespoons unsalted butter

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 pound spicy Italian sausage (I used two uncooked links)

1 large garlic clove, minced

1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined without the tails

4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

2 Tablespoons parsley, chopped

1/2 cup thinly sliced scallions
