8 fresh sardines , dressed (about 1 pound)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 finely chopped onion

1/4 cup pine nuts

1 pinch salt

12 oz bucatini pasta , or other thick long pasta
