2 tablespoons oil

2 teaspoons minced garlic

1 small chili pepper, deseeded and thinly sliced

1 tablespoon hot bean paste

2 tablespoons pickled mustard cabbage (gai choy), chopped (optional)

1 teaspoon wine

1/4 cup (60 ml) chicken or vegetable stock

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon sugar

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 cup (80 g) diced bell pepper

2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 green onion (scallion), thinly sliced, to garnish
